Heritage Works – University of Sydney, Anderson Stuart Building

Founded in 1850, the University of Sydney has ranked in the top 20 universities worldwide. From the inner city of Sydney, to working farms to the Great Barrier Reef, the University of Sydney has teachers, researchers and students based all over Australia.

UBW has been engaged to work on a range of projects on multiple sites within the university. Such projects (but not limited to) Glass maintenance work at the Holme Building and Footbridge Theatre, balustrade stone repairs at the famous Quadrangle campus, amenities upgrade at the Carslaw Building, fit-outs, room relocation and modifications such as the Nicholson Museum, Chemistry Lecture Room, and Jane Foss Russell Building.

Anderson Stuart Building – formerly known as ‘Old Medical School’ was constructed between 1884 and 1892 and designed by the Colonial Architect James Barnet. Named after the foundation Dean of the Medical Faculty, Sir Thomas Peter Anderson Stuart (1856-1920), the Anderson Stuart Building has been in continuous use by the Faculty since 1889. The school was designed to be in harmony with the main building in both architectural style (Gothic revival) and materials.

UBW was engaged to prepare and paint damaged ceiling areas and walls as per the heritage design and colours.
