Safer platforms for vision-impaired commuters.
Tactile paving warns people with vision impairment of platform edges, ramps, stairways and changes in path, and contrasting colours also help people with partial sight. UBW was engaged to replace worn tactiles on Sydney Trains platforms so the stations meet current accessibility standards.
Compliant with BCA and ASA standards.
UBW replaced the tactiles on station platforms to comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Asset Standards Authority (ASA) requirements. Works were carried out at St James Railway Station and St Marys Railway Station, among other Sydney Trains sites.
