Works happen while commuters keep moving. Mascot serves around 20,000 people a day, and UBW delivered a 12 month upgrade alongside Downer Group.
Clear scopes with firm finish dates. Town Hall signage was relocated in 1 week, tactile replacement ran 1 week per station, and the Bondi Junction columns took 4 weeks.
Tactile paving and handrails are safety-critical. UBW replaced platform tactiles to BCA and ASA requirements and installed 316 grade stainless steel handrails at Parramatta.
Town Hall opened in 1932 and Parramatta is heritage-listed. Works are planned to protect original fabric in stations that never close.
UBW delivers building works for Sydneyβs rail network, from new access infrastructure to heritage restoration. Recent projects include the vertical transportation upgrade at Mascot Station for the Transport Access Program, restoration of six glazed tile columns at Bondi Junction, signage relocation at heritage-listed Town Hall, and stainless steel handrail replacement at Parramatta.
Every project is planned around live operations and passenger movement. We scope with your project team, keep works staged and clearly signed, and manage each stage through to handover to the asset owner. See our refurbishment, maintenance, small works and heritage services.

Restoration of heritage-listed and historic station fabric.
Choosing a contractor for a live station is a decision about safety and disruption. We plan around the passengers and the operation, and manage every stage through to handover.
ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 certified, with safety and quality documented on every site.
Tactile paving replaced to BCA and ASA requirements, and handrails specified for durability and corrosion resistance.
Works planned to minimise impact on commuters and station operations, as at Town Hall, one of Sydneyβs busiest underground stations.
Delivered at Mascot, Linfield, Bondi Junction, St James, St Marys, Town Hall and Parramatta stations.
